Vicki and Chris's Wedding, Buxted Park

I love this job! You get to photograph lovely people in beautiful locations! And Chris and Vicki's wedding was no exception. They are such a lovely couple, so much in love with each other, and surrounded by family and friends who clearly care a lot for them. And they chose an amazing venue for their wedding - Buxted Park near East Grinstead. I was accompanied by my fabulous photography friend Nicky Thomas who is based in Polegate in East Sussex, and our work has beautifully dovetailed together to give Chris and Vicki the most amazing photographs of their day.

Here is just a teeny sample of what we captured - and I can't wait to show the two of them the whole set!

Rob Passes Adobe Lightroom Exam!

I'm very proud of my husband and partner right now as he has just taken the Adobe Lightroom exam to become an Adobe accredited expert in Lightroom. Not only did he pass, he got 94% so an amazing achievement. He has worked so hard on his preparation for the exam over the last few months, so it's a well deserved achievement for him. Rob never does things by halves!

Cecil Beaton: Portraits Exhibition at The Walker Art Gallery

Tomorrow sees the launch of the Cecil Beaton: portraits exhibition at The Walker Art Gallery, and I am very privileged to have 6 of my images displayed in the gallery, linked to the exhibition. Here is a taste of what I have displayed - a photograph of Amy in a meadow. If you want to see the collection then you'll have to visit the exhibition between 26th June and 31st August.

In this photograph you can see the display that has been created in the area at the end of the Beaton exhibition. A link to the exhibition is a series of portrait sessions as well as a competition to find the modern icons to be photographed in the Beaton style, reflecting the personality and character of the sitter.

Here you can see that my two gold award winning images are featured in the display.

And finally, I was interviewed for the BBC Regional News, Look North West, about the competition and the hunt for the modern icons.
This is a fabulous experience, and I feel very proud of being invited to be included in such a prestigious exhibition in one of the UKs best galleries.

If you think you might have the essence of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Winston Churchill or Fred Astaire then why not enter the competition to find our modern day icons - click here to go to the Walker Art Gallery competition entry form.

And if you find yourself in Liverpool, then visit The Walker Art Gallery and let me know what you think of the exhibition. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Updates coming

I have been so busy sorting things out for The Walker Art Gallery (more news on this over the next few days) that I am way behind on blogging - I promise after tomorrow to start getting some updates of work up onto the blog and you can see what I've been up to! Bear with me, and watch this space!

The Meadow and The Woods

An evening shoot in a meadow and some woods produced some amazing effects recently - we didn't have much time as the only way to create the results I was after was to shoot close to sunset, and of course that inevitably gave us very little time as the sun sank fast! Here is a little taster of what we were able to create. Makeup Artist was Sian Louise Auld, model Amy Finnimore.
