Too Cute - Toddler Photographs

Some kids really are too cute for words, and Cara is one of those. She was definitely a determined young lady, but so adorable too, and I just love these photographs that we managed to create together!

BIPP North West Professional Photographer Awards 2010: Liverpool based wedding and portrait photographer wins 5 awards

Saturday night was the 2010 BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photographers) North West Professional Photographer Awards, and I am pleased to say that I did quite well! I won 2 silver awards, one bronze and 2 merits, so quite a little collection!

The 2 silver awards recognised the quality of my wedding photography, as did one of the merits, with awards for reportage wedding photography, creative wedding photography and classical wedding photography. I have always prided myself in my ability to deliver the style of wedding photography that my clients want in and around the Liverpool area, and so I was really pleased to be able to walk away with awards in all 3 of the wedding categories.

I have only been entering the regional awards for 4 years, and have now won a number of awards in each year, so I am glad to be able to continue to demonstrate to my clients that they are choosing one of the top quality wedding and portrait photographers in the Liverpool area.

Race for Life 2010

I'm doing the Race for Life on Thursday 8th July and I'd love if you can spare a £1 or so to sponsor me and support Cancer Research UK. Just click below and you will be taken to my sponsorship page. Thank you in advance - I'm sure all of us know someone who has been affected by cancer, and many of you may have been affected personally. Thankfully more and more people are getting the help and support that they need much earlier than used to happen, and many of those with cancer survive and go on to live full lives. Let's work together to raise more funds to help others in the future.

Special Project - Portrait Shoots

I need help! I am working on a very special project and I need people who are prepared to be photographed for it. The theme of the shoot is "First Thing" and I want to photograph people doing what they do first thing in the morning - be it a quick smoke before getting up, a slow stretch, a cuddle with the kids, a coffee, a shower (not full nudity), reading the paper, brushing the kids' hair - whatever it is you do first thing, I want to record it for this special project. Hair will be the way hair is when you get up, and no makeup - unless you're putting it on!

The photographs will be taken in your home - bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, garden, wherever your day starts. And need to be taken over the next 2 months or so. Oh, and one promise - this is not a sales exercise! Anyone who helps me out with this will get a little thank you of a 7x5 print.

Email me at info@zoephotography.co.uk to get involved.

Baby Portrait for Iris

I love it when a plan comes together - a few weeks ago someone told me that she was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to photograph her friend's beautiful baby as she was just adorable! I asked where the baby was, and when I found out she was not too far from Bristol I started to hatch a plan - you see, last week I was photographing a wedding in Somerset, and I knew even though I'd have to do a little detour, I'd be able to get to photograph the beautiful Iris!

She was just 5 weeks old in her photo shoot - and look, she was exhausted by it right from the start! Here is just a teeny selection of what Iris gave us - she was a perfect model, keeping a beady eye on me for most of the shoot, checking out that everything was ok!

Weekly Update: Portrait, Wedding and Baby Photographs, Liverpool

It's been a busy week at the Zoe Photography Studio this last week - 2 weddings (one in Liverpool and one in Somerset!), headshot sessions, baby portraits and family portraits! We had new babies and visits from babies growing up just a little bit (it was so lovely to see Poppy again!), newborn babies, and babies well into the second half of their first year. And then there were headshot sessions, family portrait sessions, and the delivery of beautiful photographs to happy customers.

In fact, it's been so busy it's just not possible to showcase images from every shoot - more will have to follow in the coming days! But here are three shoots from last week - we start with beautiful newborn Elizabeth, whose parents I photographed getting married 2 years ago at Croxteth Hall, Liverpool, and then the gorgeous 8 week old Nathan (I have to stop falling in love with the babies that come to visit me in the studio!), and Abi's fun headshot session.

We also did lots of planning for April special offers this last week - we have already announced 2 of the special offers - watch this space for more this coming week! These offers are real steals and are getting snatched up fast - after all, it's not often that you can get such value for money shoots from one of the North West's best photographers with a string of prestigious awards to her name!

Oh, and of course, we can't end this week's update without a mention of the exciting exhibition that will be happening in The Gallery, Clayton Square, Liverpool from 6th May, and this last week has seen us finalising the images to be included!

Intimate Wedding at The Racquet Club, Liverpool

Yesterday was a very intimate wedding for Caroline and David at The Racquet Club in Liverpool. It was a huge privilege for me to photograph their wedding - not least because Caroline and I studied photography together at college many years ago!

Caroline looked amazing, her dress fitting beautifully into the grandeur of The Racquet Club, and David looked very dapper. And their little girl, Frankie, was the perfect princess in her pretty dress. We attempted a little foray out into Liverpool for a few shots, but it was ridiculously cold and windy for Spring! I was almost blown off my feet at one point! But thankfully we were able to get lots of fabulous photographs anyway.

Congratulations to the two of you! It was a fabulous day, I really enjoyed myself.
