Giving Back a Little at Christmas: EXTENDED TO 31ST DEC.

I don't do Christmas cards - it's just not my thing. Thank you to those people who take time to write them and who send them to me letting me know that I am still in your thoughts, I appreciate that, and my apologies for not sending one back to you. But I do hope you will forgive me as I do my annual Christmas gift of Cash for Comments!

This year's charity is Rights and Humanities, and they will benefit from every comment made on my blog between now, 8th December, and Christmas Day. So come on, let's hear it! If you leave a comment then I will put £1 into the pot - I'd love to reach £50 this year, and even better, I have a target of £120 - are you going to help me get there?

So tell me what it's been like being photographed by me (I'd love to know!), or what it's been like to attend one of my photography workshops, or your thoughts on my monthly column in Photo Pro Magazine. Or just say hi if we haven't yet met!

Oh, and as a special treat - if you mention 'Photography Workshop in Liverpool, March 2010' in your comment, and tell me why you should have a special treat then I am giving one place away on one of the 4 workshops in The March Series of photography workshops to the person who is the most persuasive!

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for helping me reach my target through your comments!

  1. I really should make a stand like this and avoid the hassle of Christmas cards but this year, a photo of my daughter in Santa hat and red nappy was just to tempting (she will hate me when she is older - LOL!)

So that's my comment - Happy Christmas!

  2. What a wonderful idea, Zoe -- brava and well done! Here's a glass raised to you! :)

Having you as our wedding photographer was superb; you really did make the day easy and enjoyable for us, and even now folks are still talking about the great photographers (and nudgig us about the album, ooops). Thank you for capturing our day so wonderfully. :)

As to the Photography Workshop in Liverpool, March 2010 ... Well, I have a sneaky suspicion that a certain husband of mine would love a place, given he's now got a dSLR and hasn't had much time to play with it... ;)

Happy Solstice, Christmas and all that jazz! *hugs*

  4. Let's put the money where it can do the most good during this festive time.... in the charity tins and not the bank account of Clintons.....

Good on you Zoe : )

  5. Merry Christmas.

I normally read your column in Photo Pro Magazine. I also read your posts on the SWPP forums, what an amazing amount of people 'throwing their toys out of the pram' there have been recently. It seems most SWPP members value their integrity so I suspect some changes will need to be introduced for the monthly competition. Well done for keeping a clear head and focusing on the issues when posting on controversial topics.

  6. Well done you Zoe, a Christmas greeting without killing a tree!

As for your workshops, all I can say is, I have been on one, trust me, worth every penny!
Dont just think about doing it, do it, you wont regret it!
Would love to attend your next one, but you know my situation, and you have not seen the last of me yet! I WILL be on another!!!

  9. What a great idea, Zoe! Good for you.

It's been lovely getting to know you this year (albeit mainly online!) and I've really appreciated the advice you've given me.

I know 2009 has been a great year for you but I am sure 2010 will be even better.

I hope you have a great Christmas and a fantastic New Year. Here's to 2010!!

  10. Hi Zoe,

We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and New Year and think it's a great idea not sending cards but giving to charity instead.

We would just like to say a very big thank you for all your hard work and advice you gave us when taking our Wedding pictures in Venice this year and hope you enjoyed our special day as much as we did! A very big thank you to Ellie for helping with the music, it was amazing. You made us and all our family feel at ease and by the end of the day it felt as if you were part of our family. We can't wait to see the album in the new year.

I would really love to come on a Photography Workshop in Liverpool to see how to capture those special moments from a photographers point of view, as hopefully this will enable a novice photographer like myself to gain some experience before our new family member (niece/nephew) arrives in May!!!

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year! Rachael & Jay xxx
